How to make safe zone in Operating Room
Maintaining of Triage for all the systemic working cycle in healthcare system. Backup option for all the emergency situation
Equipment
Certified personnel or medical technologist for using of Equipment and other accessories to enhance the good environment and sorting out problem on spot.
All the Diathermy must be kept away from fluid and alcohol-based liquid items (surgical spirit, hydrogen peroxide).
DVT –Deep Vein Thrombosis machine used only on the recommendation of the surgeon and anaesth
esia to avoid the caution.
Regular checking of the equipment and preventive maintenance with the manufacturer or service engineer
Electrical
All the medical equipment must use with well-grounded power cord only. Use only country recommended power cord with good coiling
Check the earthing system of the electrical circuit once in two weeks. Use proper backup power supply like UPS whenever power fails.
Operation theatre
All the gas using in the Operation theatre must be closed and (sockets) removed when there is no case in the OT (CO2 gas from Gas insufflator)
Check for Medical gases normal pressure in pipeline in daily basis for better practices
Follow up the fumigation protocol to avoid the fire inside the operation theatre
Check the AGSS-Anaesthesia Gas Scavenging system to reduce the operating room pollution
In anaesthesia work station Oxygen failure alarm and regular checking of anaesthesia work station and other related accessories
Switch off all the on-off switch inside the operating room before the fumigation and cover all the monitor with covers.
Don’t keep any hazardous thing (medical equipment and gas cylinder ) inside the instruments room to avoid fire
Suction machine tubing and collection jar must be clean with the hot water followed by the disinfectant solution.
All the equipment Foot-switch/Pedal must be covered with the transparent cover to avoid the blood and fluid spillage.
Check for particulate count once in a month using the Petri-dish method. check the CFU-Colony forming unit using Air sampling machine inside the operating theatre and other zones
Check the Working condition of Laminar Air Flow with the Air conditioning. Maintain the Operating room Temperature and humidity with unidirectional flow of Air in and out.
Make sure pressure relief damper whether working or not.
Checking of Proper operating top Light without any shadow
Fire safety
Fire management team with proper equipment, water hose with water tank connection for fire control.
Regular checking of Fire extinguisher and other fire control device for future use. Label and maintain the registry for documentation
Fire safety by the fire control team from the regional Fire safety officer.
Fire alarm in all the floor and section to aware of the fire and regular maintenance
Training the healthcare professional and ancillary staffs about fire safety. Certification from the fire safety officer to all the peoples in hospitals
