Sterilization of Equipments and cables

Using the recommended procedure, sterilize and degassed before use.

The sterilizer temperature must not exceed 70° C (158° F) since plastics in the pressure transducer may deform or melt above this temperature.

Cleaning and Sterilization for CO2 adapter

Follow the cleaning and sterilization instructions listed below to clean or sterilize Capnostat and its accessories.

Capnostat CO2 Sensor

Clean the sensor surface with a damp cloth.

Ensure the sensor windows are clean and try.

Do not immerse the monitor

Do not attempt to sterilize the capnostat

Adult Airway Adapter

The cleaning of Adult Airway Adapter with lint-free in a warm soapy solution, followed by soaking in a liquid disinfectant, or pasteurized, or cold sterilized (glutaraldehyde). It should then the rinsed out with sterile water and dried.

The Adult Airway Adapter may be sterilized using steam autoclave or ETO (ethylene) gas methods. Be sure to use appropriate aeration times.

Before re using the adapter. Ensure the dry screen and residue free. The adapter has not been damaged handling or by the cleaning/sterilization process.

 

Neonatal Airway Adapter

The Neonatal Airway Adapter clean by rinsing in a warm soapy solution. Follows by soaking in a liquid disinfectant or pasteurized, or cold sterilized (glutaraldehyde). 

The Neonatal Airway Adapter may be sterilized using ETO (ethylene oxide) gas methods. Be sure to use appropriate aeration times.

External Sampling System Components

The Nasal Sampling Cannulas are single patient use.

The Sampling Airway Adapter with tubing is a single patient use.

Isolate equipment from the mains supply before cleaning. Clean the case and front panel with a soft cloth lightly moistened with warm soap water. Use only mild soaps or detergents. Allow the machine to dry

thoroughly before use.

Do not use chemicals or abrasive cleaning agents.

Note

Do not immerse the monitor.

Do not attempt to sterilize the monitor.

Inspect the power cord for any signs of damage. If damaged, replace with an appropriate replacement part. Do not attempt to repair.cardiac ot

Warning

Do not steam autoclave the Hose  CUFF of NIBP.

Use ethylene oxide gas only for sterilization.

Wrap the connector lead in a polythene bag to prevent moisture penetration.

Loosely coil the cable to avoid any kinks, as this would restrict the venting of the transducer.

Wrap transducer and cable in the recommended way for ethylene oxide sterilization.
